Everyone is waiting for the bottom to announce itself. Unfortunately, it won’t. Bottoms like this get engineered, and the engineering has likely already started. Fully aligned with @rektdiomedes' framing below. The Trump admin’s bias is obvious: rates lower, dollar lower, assets up. What’s been blocking it is the Iran conflict keeping inflation fears alive (bc of oil prices being fkd) and a Fed board that clearly isn’t eager to hand Trump his cuts. But the long end blowing out could be the forcing function here. Why? Bc hot 10yr and 30yr were tolerable while they did the tightening for the Fed. Past a certain level tho, they become a problem that Treasury has to solve. Bessent recently showed with the Yen that he’s willing to pull levers, and I agree the long end is next (which could mark a macro bottom). From there it comes down to @rektdiomedes' two questions: does Warsh deliver the cuts, and does oil cooperate. On oil I’m firmly in the bear camp with him. Iran is the near-term problem, but structurally everything points down. LNG and alternatives eating demand, new tech, US production dominance, etc. There is a catch tho: Iran knows its leverage very well rn. War -> oil prices -> CPI -> fed rates. With midterms approaching they’ll keep pulling that string as long as it works. So yes, genuinely an open question imo whether cuts arrive in time, and I agree there’s even a (not unlikely) scenario where Trump never gets his low rates at all. But here’s the thing: Trump is staring down the loss of the Senate and possibly the House. Losing Congress means losing the power to get pretty much anything done. Which imo means he will likely apply maximum pressure to pump the economy and markets before November, which is already showing in prediction markets data that just dropped below 50% odds of a hike at the next meeting (smol hike def still on table as well tho). Which is also why @blknoiz06’s recent bottom call (linked in comments) resonates with me. Bro mentions a few key factors: - Price no longer dumping on bad news like Saylor/Strategy selling millions into 58-60k while BTC prints higher lows, and as crypto native apps / onchain trenches finally start getting real traction again. Just look at @Pumpfun revenue which is up 20%, or @fomo at 100k+ users in just a week. Seems like attention is starting to flow back across social too. - Now add what peak fear looks like from inside the industry: Over $100M in cold wallet $BTC drained and the market barely reacts. @BitMEX and @BitMartExchange shutting down while market doesnt care. Crypto protocols winding down left, right and center, and most charts down 70-80-90% from ATHs. That’s not what a top or a bull market looks like. That’s the capitulation bottoms are built around. And it’s happening while onchain activity across Ethereum, @solana and Robinhood Chain finally regains traction after months of drought. - And on catalysts: the Clarity Act could be the real ignition trigger. Odds aren’t great tbh with Senate's summer recess two/three days out and @Polymarket + @Kalshi implying it won't happen. But Senate majority leader Thune still expects a vote this week, and SEC Commissioner Peirce even expects it to pass this week. But even if it dies on the floor, it looks like SEC and CFTC have rule sets ready, so I think it's not outlandish to expect regulatory clarity arriving either way. - Additionally, and beyond macro noise, it looks like the substance is quietly compounding. I’ve had family office reps asking genuinely sharp questions about @HyperliquidX's HIP-3 perps as a way to get or hedge exposure to tech and AI stocks, especially in Asian markets. Same energy around prediction markets, stablecoin payments, and crypto neobanking. - Last but not least and a trend that is heavily underestimated rn imo: AI (or vibe coding to be specific) is nuking the gap between idea and execution in the dev world. Don't get me wrong tho, I'm not looking/hoping for a vibe-coded app economy that gets hacked the fk out of it. The point is tho that lean teams can now ship more efficiently without 10 devs onboard (that they won't find or can't afford), and imo even more importantly: the idea guys can now bootstrap stuff into actual prototypes strong enough to raise on. So build costs just fell off a cliff right as reasons to build start returning. All while (on a side note) crypto x AI still holds enormous untapped potential across the stack, from compute markets and verifiable inference to agentic workflows and the financial primitives agent economies will run on. But will deep dive on that front in a separate post down the line. In conclusion: This market isn’t dead. And the question was never "if" the macro pieces fall into place. Only when. Once they do, the setup underneath is stronger than almost anyone currently positioned realizes. LFG!!!bulls in control 🐂🀄️ https://t.co/ITNo7q5v43View original on X ↗
