GCR once said something along the lines of 'Each crypto cycle has a flash in the pan moment / theme that preceeds a large movement / them in the following cycle'. I've spent time wondering what that flash in the pan was this cycle and I believe one of the best canditates I can think of was the very brief but violent outperformance of major alts like $ETH and $XRP against $BTC. We saw major impulsive moves up that were very characteristic of wave 1's in that a large cohort of the crowd was doubtful and hating the whole way up. The corrections we have seen since early-mid 2025 are very characteristic of wave 2's in that they have convinced almost everyone that the prior downtrends (particularly against BTC) are going to resume. If we are gearing up for a major crypto cycle top, the next cycle should feature immense outperformance from major alts. ETH currently looks better than some majors like XRP and this is actually very expected and typical when you study how XRP moves compared to ETH@_hizzim ETH will perform beautifully! Here is the $XRP chart against $ETH for reference though :) https://t.co/xNU4UoWKilView original on X ↗
